The Mountain Jam Band at Bernie's Poster

Bobblin’ Men was a full blow back into Photoshop work, which was a prevalent program at the beginning of my digital art career. However, of late it has taken a backseat to Illustrator. Thank you Ryan Guthrie for giving Stu Margulis the idea to turn your group of Ramblin’ Men into Bobblin’ Men. This piece was a lot of fun and proof that a good joke can go a long way when a few creative minds come together!

The Mountain Jam Band as Bobble Heads

This Old Engine at Homestead Bar & Kitchen Poster

This one was a lot of fun to collaborate with Tim McDonald and bring to life this monster of a piece. The subject matter led to a few awesome concepts before Tim’s input brought the right one into the forefront. Giving credit where credit is due is a key to remember in creation so thank you Tim for the cue to curve up the more rigid style of one as well as going full DNA chain with the railroads along the side. Finally the point of extending the railroad planks out past the edge was a game changer to twist and turn this one into a trippy cartoon paradise. Behind the marquee rides the party train that has arrived at the Homestead right on time ready to rock up the joint! With a great collection of people to photograph it was magical to capture the joy they put on.

In loving memory of Jim Topor… This Old Engine left the station on time to roll through a jam packed night of amazing music. Flying V Productions has everything dialed in perfectly to ring in 2023 with a hell of a lot of fun. Homestead Bar & Kitchen was billowing with people dancing and loving the great vibes. They were dancin’, dancin’, dancin’ in the streets!

I wasn’t wasting time any more with this piece because time went by like a hurricane in 2022 and it kept rolling on through for 2023. The artwork for this one was simple, clean and as elegant as an Allman Brothers inspired artwork can be. The show itself was incredibly fulfilling to watch and photograph.

The Mountain Jam Band at Homestead Bar & Kitchen 1/17/2023

A tight, tuned in tribute on a Tuesday night. The Mountain Jam Band, composed of a great cast of fun guys, played exceptionally well off each other. It was heartwarming to watch the cascade of smiles thrown around the stage from musician to musician. The audience, who largely had returned to the grindstone after a long weekend, were blessed with 2 beautiful sets of music. Flying V Productions dialed in another incredible performance with a phenomenal mix making this night better than sunshine, and damn sure better than rain!

Double Birthday Bash @ Homestead Bar & Kitchen 1/30/2023

It was a party and everyone was crying because they wanted to…with streaming tears of joy!  Joe Biglin and Calleb Estey celebrated their birthdays with a room full of dancing bodies lit up with smiling faces. Not to mention the killer lightshow lighting up those same faces as well as the collection of incredibly original music and musicians.  With a slow tempo start the first band set the stage for a great night of fun tunes.  Flying V Productions put on another flawless mixed night of the most fun one is legally allowed to experience on a Monday night. If you're not at this venue whenever Vincent is mixing you are missing out more than you could imagine!

Divided Sky Artwork

After seeing Phish in Hershey and witnessing the new colors of donuts a piece struck me. Playing off of “Divided Sky” the contrasting colors of red and green blended well with the analogous hues of blue and purple. Thus the split down the middle artwork was started. Using a compass to ensure all the donuts started out right a bevy of circles danced their way onto the page. Al the process took awhile as it began with sketching all the lines and mountains before picking out which colors would go we’re in an attempt to keep the ever growing number of lines and sections in order. Once it was turned into a personal color by number it was time to cover the lines with color. Using micro pens all the pencil became it’s respective shapes color. The final step achieved with Copic markers, involved a light hue for basic color. Next came a dark shadow tone before a collection of middle tones blended the two. The alcohol and ink in Copic markers allows for one of the most unique blending of any marker I have ever used. They have quickly become my favorite illustrating utensil as they create a wide range of looks all of which are very clean and professional.
