Finally an Artist

I have never truly considered myself “an artist”.

My inner voice would say “I can just draw, I can’t paint, an artist paints”

Or “I’m just creative, not an artist”

As well as the classic “I don’t have a body of work how could I be an artist”

and the seal of death…

“It’s just a hobby, Art is not my real job”

About 10 years ago I took a painting class at Ramapo, just for an easy credit filler. After breaking the notion that “I can’t paint” I began systematically proving my negative self talk wrong. Albeit I did not set out to do this, rather it has all happened while my inner voice still screams “You’re not an artist, how could you be you’re not this that or the other thing”

Well…

With a body of work larger than I can remember creating I’d say… I’m an artist.

As a community of happy clients grows I’d say … I’m an artist.

After a plethora of media practiced spanning from print, to digital, physical and even audio and visual I feel I can finally truly say… I’m an Artist.
